What is frequency-specific microcurrent therapy?
Frequency-specific microcurrent therapy refers to the use of microcurrents (millionths of an amp) of electricity at specified frequencies applied through the skin to muscle and tissue in order to stimulate the body at a cellular level to increase production of its own ATP chemical energy, increase waste product removal and protein synthesis, and facilitate healing. Unlike TENS treatments, the currents used in microcurrent therapy are too small to stimulate sensory nerves.

How does frequency-specific microcurrent therapy work?
Frequency-specific microcurrent therapy is applied to the skin using conductive pads, or more often, a pair of electrically-conductive gloves worn by the doctor or therapist. The gloves allow the therapist to put the current exactly where it is needed. Frequencies are adjusted within a fixed range to known presets with established benefits (for example, the healing of shingles), or to find the range that resonates with the patient on a cellular level. Because of the rapid detoxification effect of frequency-specific microcurrent therapy, some patients will feel many of the same effects from a short therapy as from an extensive massage session or cleanse.
