What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. In practice, it is a safe, non-invasive, drug-free medical treatment for a wide variety of complaints.

What does chiropractic do for me?

Chiropractic treatments are used for a wide variety of medical conditions, either by itself or in conjunction with other treatment methods.

See one of our doctors for more information on how chiropractic may help with your specific concern.

How does chiropractic work?

During a chiropractic visit, your doctor will identify spinal “subluxations”, or misaligned joints, and realign the joint using one of two main adjustment techniques. The first technique is manual manipulation, a gentle thrust at a specific location along the spine chosen to correct the misalignment. This method sometimes produces a “cracking” sound often associated with chiropractic care. An alternative method, using a tool called an “activator”, is gentler yet. An activator is a hand-held tool used by your doctor to deliver a high-velocity, low force “tap” at the selected location, also adjusting a misalignment.
